# Critical thinking math problems 7th grade

Students will need to have a strong background over identifying ratios. For students who have not been fully immersed in the Common Core, many of them may attempt to use a strategy that involves setting up a proportion and solving for the missing value. During the bell ringer of this lesson, students will be asked to grapple with the problems on their own for 10 minutes first. This will allow students to truly exercise MP1. Students will be able to work with radicals and integer exponents. Students will also be able to know that there are numbers that are not rational, and approximate them by rational numbers.

Analyze and Solve Linear Equations: Students will be able to understand the connections between proportional relationships, lines, and linear equations.

Students will also be able to analyze and solve linear equations and pairs of simultaneous linear equations.
